What would Google do with its own PC operating system? We might find out soon, since it already seems to have one.
, Google's open-source mobile operating system, is based on a Linux kernel. As a result, it isn't hard to imagine Android, given the right kind of driver support and application software, running a lot more than just smartphones.

Linux on the desktop faces some nasty realities in 2009, including a vastly improved Windows 7, an increasing use of the MacOS, and a broader move by Google with their proprietary Linux solution currently called Android.
The most interesting product set to hit the market is Phoenix Technology's Hyperspace, which, while based on Linux, is actually modeled after a future version of the MacOS. End users never cared much for coding or UNIX. They have Read the rest of this entry »

Samsung looks like being the next company to support Google’s bid to enter the mobile phone market.

Google does not do well with Apps, at least according to most industry reports. So, Microsoft will greatly expand the number of products it markets for buyers who want to use the online versions of its software. According to Read the rest of this entry »

IE will never be completely displaced. It is required to use many Microsoft online services and comes installed with Windows. But ask most people what they use for browsing and they'll answer Firefox if they have a choice. If Google can get Chrome shipping pre-installed on corporate desktops which are the traditional stronghold of IE, then it would represent a huge blow to the usage of IE.
