What would Google do with its own PC operating system? We might find out soon, since it already seems to have one.

Linux on the desktop faces some nasty realities in 2009, including a vastly improved Windows 7, an increasing use of the MacOS, and a broader move by Google with their proprietary Linux solution currently called Android.

I can do many things with the greatest of ease on the Linux desktop. But, as I discovered while doing my

Over the years, the server virtualization strategy at Sun Microsystems has been spotty, but recently it has been evolving to include a variety of new techniques. Dynamic domains, Solaris containers, logical domains, and on x64 iron, support for Xen and ESX Server hypervisors are all part of the fare now.

Microsoft isn't going away anytime soon. The software giant's presence is deeply anchored in homes and businesses globally. Microsoft is guaranteed a place in the annals of technology history.
