Web browser that thousands of compromised Web sites have been using to install malicious software.
Microsoft says the critical flaw is present in all versions of IE, from IE5 all the way up through IE8 Beta 2. In an

If you write software for the Mac, you must obey Apple's rules. Period. End of statement. If you write software for Windows, you have more lee-way, but Microsoft pretty much calls the shots. If you write software for Linux though you can pretty much do whatever you want, except, of course, you shouldn't. Because if you do re-invent the wheel every time you write for Linux, we end up with software that doesn't work or play well with other Linux software. Read the rest of this entry »

last week revealed some details of a new operating system aimed at helping developers write Internet-based applications.
The operating system, known as Windows Cloud, will be formally unveiled within a month, Ballmer told an audience of IT managers at a Microsoft-sponsored developer conference in London.

CTO Stephen Herrod drew a cheer at the VMworld conference Wednesday by announcing plans to bring the next version of VMware's VirtualCenter management software to Linux and the iPhone.
In a speech opening day two of the VMworld show in Las Vegas, Herrod also described improvements to VMware's core virtual machine technology that should allow businesses to run larger, more demanding applications on virtualized servers.
