Nokia Beefs Up S60 On Symbian With Open App Software

In a move to broaden the use of its S60 on Symbian OS, Nokia announced Monday that its Qt cross-application framework will be ported to Symbian to make it easy for developers to create applications for multiple platforms.

Active Storage XRAID Features Native Mac Software

on Monday introduced its Active Storage XRAID, a 16 terabyte RAID system for Macintosh users that occupies three units of rack space. It costs US$14,999.
The Active Storage XRAID features 16 hard disk drive bays, with support for SATA II and 3Gb/s SAS hard drives. Microsoft Lauds Global Antipiracy Success

Tuesday revealed what it says is unprecedented success in its worldwide efforts to prevent people from pirating or counterfeiting its software.
The company outlined more than 400 law-enforcement efforts in 49 countries on six continents around the world to prevent the piracy or counterfeiting of its software products. Microsoft is calling Tuesday "Global Anti-Piracy Day" to laud the efforts.

Identify mystery startup apps in XP and Vista

I get impatient waiting for my Vista PC to boot up. I could just leave the machine in sleep mode, but going long stretches without rebooting can cause problems of its own.
